RESUMO
Objetivo: Discorrer sobre a importância do papel do enfermeiro na segurança com o paciente em centro cirúrgico. Método: Pesquisa de natureza descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa, realizada a partir da revisão bibliográfica de artigos científicos disponíveis de forma on-line, com recorte temporal de 2013 a 2021. As fontes que compuseram este trabalho foram focalizadas em outras produções coerentemente com a temática abordada nesta pesquisa. Resultados: A segurança do paciente em ambiente de centro cirúrgico requer muita informação por parte do enfermeiro e configura-se como uma gama de necessidades que obrigatoriamente precisam ser intensificadas, desde a higienização das mãos, do ambiente e dos instrumentos, até orientações básicas e necessárias no pré, trans e pós-operatório. Conclusão: Foram relacionados os principais cuidados e orientações que os enfermeiros precisam manter para garantir a integridade dos pacientes em ambiente de centro cirúrgico.

ABSTRACT: Objective: to discuss the importance of the nurse’s role in patient safety in the operating room. Method: a descriptive study with a qualitative approach, conducted through a review of scientific articles available online, covering the period from 2013 to 2021. The sources used in this study focused on publications related to the topic addressed in this research. Results: Patient safety in the operating room environment requires extensive knowledge on the part of the nurse and encompasses a series of needs that must be prioritized, ranging from hand hygiene, environmental hygiene, and instrument sterilization, to the basic and necessary guidelines during the pre-, intra-, and postoperative periods. Conclusion: The main precautions and guidelines that nurses must follow to ensure patient safety in the operating room environment have been outlined.
